All of the benchmarks within this checklist must be completed at a satisfactory (M--for Met or E--for Exceed) level before the end of the quarter for a student to receive a grade. If any are marked incomplete than they will receive a grade of I (incomplete) for their quarterly grade.

Summative Assessment: Postcards
Students are to assume the role of each of the four groups of foreigners that arrived in Hawaii. Then they are to write a postcard to a loved one that details their lives and the changes (social, political, and economic) that the Island of Hawaii had to make because of their arrival.
